Pros and cons of Yik Yak app for iPhone and iPad

Yik Yak app good for

Its pretty entertaining during the school year but dead in the summer. Regardless, its fun and anonymous
It keeps me informed about whats going on around campus and gives me a good laugh. Also, their support team was very helpful in restoring my yakarma on my new phone.
This is a very entertaining app with the potential to gather and spread positive information. It does have its annoyances, like not being able to easily change your heard. Still, I find myself feeling the pulse of the group quite often!
Apart from some people being thirsty, some people being racist, and quite a few trolls... but hey, youre going to find those people on all social media, and in real life. Bullying has been an issue for some, but with account verification and the ability to mute/block users, they seem to be proactively trying to counter the problems that show up. And I appreciate that
Not enough people review it. Only the pissy ones do. Use it all the time. Best in college
Good app pretty cool but its bugging out on me my screen just turns plain white when I open the app its been happening for days now before it worked fine please fix this

Some bad moments

Many better non-anonymous social networks out there. Was never big in Toronto anyways
Yik Yak went downhill. Go back to the original Yik Yak where everything was anonymous. No handles, no messaging, just herds and anonymous posts is all you need!
This app is absolutely terrible. This app was discovered a few years ago where I live and started a total rampage. Kids were bullying anonymously left right and centre. Many children got suspended from our local high school as well. Now being 2016, this app has come back to play. Again with all the bullying. This allows people to bully others and it is not ok. This app should never have been created. Please remove it. It is causing so much damage.
With recent updates Yik Yak took out the anonymous feature by implementing mandatory usernames, its not the same anymore
The yak community in Toronto is down to 10 cyberbullying trolls that copy posts from Reddit/Twitter/Tumblr. Its not anonymous anymore or limited to university students so its just a crap social network that wants to sell your phone number. Hard Pass.
This app is heavily censored. Its incredibly easy to report someones post if they have a differing opinion from your own and it will be taken down almost instantly. A bunch of unfunny, immature and perverted posts, rehashed jokes and uncool people make this app one of the worst.
